I truly love everything about being a podcast guest. I get to meet some of the most amazing people through the process, and I get to share financial information in a way that helps more people truly look at their numbers.

My goal on every podcast I guest on is to leave listeners with something actionable. Even if that action is simply opening your P&L for the first time in months, I consider that a win.

None of us were taught how to do everything in school. I could never draft a document or make an argument in court for myself. Attorneys are not meant to set up, analyze, and interpret their financial data on their own.

We all need people who excel in their own zone of genius to support us in building full, sustainable lives, both personally and professionally.

One of the biggest misconceptions is that more billable hours are always the answer. As AI and automation continue to improve, profitability will come less from long hours and more from building efficient systems and thoughtful pricing, including flat-fee models that reward the effort required to create those efficiencies.

Many firm owners are actively moving away from the “hustle hard” mentality we were raised in, and their teams are too. Constant billable pressure leads to burnout, and burnout can damage a firm just as quickly as financial instability. Long-term, sustainable growth and profit come from structures that support both the firm and the people inside it.

Money is deeply personal for business owners. There’s no single rule for what an owner or managing partner should pay themselves, and these conversations get harder when people feel they should already have answers they were never meant to have.

That’s why having a trusted financial partner matters. Many conversations feel more like coaching or mediation than traditional finance meetings, because money decisions aren’t just mathematical, they’re emotional. Our role is to help decisions make sense on paper and feel right to you, honoring your goals, values, and personal money story.

We see and serve people holistically. The softer side of finance, the mindset, is just as important as knowing the numbers and interpreting the story they tell. I can tell a business owner why they are struggling to increase their profit margins but if they aren’t ready and willing to take action they aren’t going to see results. The mindset is what’s behind the action.
It sounds cheesy but my kids are my pride and joy, even with all the grey hair I know they’ve given me. Their huge hearts, brave souls, and unique personality make me bean (almost) every day.
You’re asking an ex-music major to pick?!?! I don’t even know if that’s possible. My music choice usually has everything to do with my mood and zero cares for who is around to here me haha. A go-to for me is “Bring Me to Life” by Evanescence.
